Decentralised MVHR was the answer — specifically, a series of Prana MVHR units installed directly through the external walls of each clinical space. Unlike centralised MVHR systems, this approach required no ductwork, no suspended ceilings, and no extended room closures. Each MVHR unit operates independently: extracting stale air, supplying fresh air, and recovering up to 96% of indoor heat through a copper heat exchanger. Copper carries well-established natural antimicrobial properties — a meaningful advantage in any healthcare or surgical setting.

The decentralised MVHR installation was completed room by room within a single working day. Floors and surfaces were fully protected throughout, and every space was left clean and ready for immediate clinical use. No redecoration was required after the MVHR system was fitted — a critical consideration for a finished, active medical interior.
